Terming the “Pakistan Lifestyle” show in New Delhi as a first-ever instance of hundreds of brands and personalities from across the border assembling under one roof, Pakistan, on Tuesday, termed it as a positive message of peace from across the border.
Briefing newsmen on the four-day event to be held here from April 12 to 15, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) Chief Executive Tariq Puri said it was a new beginning in the relations between the two countries and hoped that things would continue to work in the upper trajectory. “This is a positive message of peace from Pakistan and its people,” he added.
Over 100 top brands and designers from Pakistan, popular around the globe for their design and quality, will showcase their talent in various sectors, including fashion textile, home textiles, designer furniture, leather goods and accessories, handicrafts, food products and marble ornaments.
Lifestyle Pakistan is a collaborative effort between TDAP and Indian Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) with the support of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and the Commerce and Industry Ministry.
Mr. Puri said regional trade focus with countries in the region was a key objective of TDAP. “We are keen to translate the cultural and social affinity and the strong connect between the people of India and Pakistan into expanded bilateral trade and commercial relations. The presence of a large businessmen delegation and the exhibition of such scale will help explore the infinite possibilities and opportunities in bilateral trade in both the countries. With Lifestyle Pakistan, we present Pakistan's best to India and look forward to developing the synergies in areas of common interest,” he said.
The Commerce and Industry Minister, Anand Sharma, along with the Commerce Minister of Pakistan, Makhdoom Mohammad Amin Fahim, will inaugurate the exhibition on April 12. Leading designers like Faiza Samee, Maria B, Asim Jofa, Sahar Atif and Honey Waqar are among the top designers who would be showcasing their collections during the exhibition.
