Facing stiff opposition, the Centre on Thursday night put on hold the Rs. 26.50 increase in the price of cooking gas cylinders that consumers who buy beyond their quota of six subsidised bottles have to pay. However, there is no change in the decision to increase the price of commercial cylinders.
