Fifty per cent of the Central Government's Rs.40,000-crore divestment target for 2010-11 would be met within this calendar year, Disinvestment Secretary Sumit Bose said.

Talking to reporters after addressing a joint pressmeet with Coal India Ltd (CIL) Chairman P. S. Bhattacharyya marking the opening of the CIL initial public offering (IPO), he said that after Diwali the issue of Power Grid Corporation of India would be launched. This involved a 10 per cent divestment and a 10 per cent fresh equity raising programme.

After that would come the Manganese Ore India Ltd (MOIL) issue which is a unique one involving a 10 per cent divestment by the Government and a five per cent divestment each by the State governments of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.

These would be followed by issues from Shipping Corporation of India and Hindustan Copper. Both these would be a part-divestment and part-fresh equity programme.
