Financial inclusion: who has active bank accounts in India?

An individual who has a registered account and has used it in the last 90 days is considered active.

Active registered bank account holders in 2016 remained concentrated among male, urban and Above Poverty Line segments, according to InterMedia India FII tracker survey.

An individual who has a registered account and has used it in the last 90 days is considered active.

The survey also said that active bank account holders increasingly utilize only basic account features; 12 percent of active bank account holders utilized an advanced feature in 2016.

Advanced features include Bill pay, Buy airtime, Save/set aside money, Pay for goods/groceries, Loan activity, Transfer between bank and other financial institution, etc.,

Basic features include account management, P2P transfers etc.
