NEW DELHI: Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi on Thursday launched Redmi Note 4 with prices starting from ₹9,999. The company, which crossed the USD 1 billion revenue mark in India last year, “hopes to sell double the volume” of the device’s predecessor, Redmi Note 3.
The new handset features 5.5-inch display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor (octa-core 2.0 GHz), 4,100 mAh battery, 13MP rear and 5MP front camera. It comes in three variants --2GB RAM/32GB memory, 3GB RAM/32GB memory and 4GB RAM/64GB memory, priced at ₹9,999, ₹10,999 and ₹12,999, respectively.
Xiaomi also announced that it shipped over 3.6 million units of Redmi Note 3 in 2016 in India.
Xiaomi VP Hugo Barra said, “2016 was a huge success for Xiaomi as we crossed USD 1 billion worth of revenue in the year, and 2017 will be more significant as we strive towards achieving new milestones and introducing many more exciting new products in India.”
The first sale for Redmi Note 4 is at 12pm on January 23 on Mi.com and Flipkart.
