Landmark, in association with the British Council, will host a discussion on the 'Joys and pains of writing historical fiction' by celebrated authors Louise Doughty and Rimi Chatterjee on November 6, 6 p.m. at the Landmark store in Apex Plaza, Nungambakkam.

The authors will read excerpts from their books and interact with the audience. Louise Doughty is the author of five works of fiction — Crazy Paving, Dance with Me, Honey-Dew, Fires in the Dark and Stone Cradle and one work of non-fiction, A Novel in a Year. Louise was also a judge for the 2008 Man Booker Prize that Aravind Adiga's White Tiger won.

Rimi Chatterjee is the author of two novels Signal Red and City of Love as well as a history of the Oxford University Press's relations with India, Empires of the Mind. Rimi teaches at Jadavpur University, Kolkata.
