The third edition of The Hindu’s annual literary festival, Lit for Life, will be held in two places — Delhi and Chennai — in February 2013.

The Delhi leg will feature a lecture by an eminent literary person on February 6, 2013.

The shortlist for The Hindu Literary Prize 2012 for the Best Indian fiction in English will be announced the same evening. This will be followed by a two-day event in Chennai on February 16 and 17, 2013, which will feature multiple sessions and workshops on various aspects of arts, theatre, and literature that will draw wide public interest and participation. The finale will be the announcement of the winner of the Prize.

The Prize was instituted in 2010 to commemorate 20 years of The Hindu Literary Review, the only full-fledged literary supplement in the country.

The winners in the previous years were Manu Joseph for Serious Men in 2010 and Rahul Bhattacharya for The Sly Company of People Who Care in 2011.
