A compendium of two-line poems by Peruru Balasubramanyam was released.

Tholakari, a compendium of mini poems, was released by litterateur and former Chairman of TTD and TUDA, Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, in Tirupati last week.

The book, authored by upcoming poet Peruru Balasubramanyam, has 116 thought-provoking short poems — all of them two-liners which can be comprehended easily. Balasubramanyam named the novel literary form after himself, as Baaleelu.

Karunakar Reddy hailed the author as an aspiring “literary soldier” who has the zeal to keep the embers of Telugu literature alive and burning. “Coming from the lower middle class, Balasubramanyam has effectively mirrored the realities of the society”, he said.

C. Sailakumar, chief editor of the TTD's Sapthagiri magazine who presided over the function, hailed the author's mature thought in using alphabets as his weapon on the societal inequities. Litterateurs Sakam Nagaraja, T.Ramachandra Reddy, P. Chenchu Subbaiah spoke. Telugu Bhashodyama Samithi leaders felicitated the author.
