Less than 24 hours after a nerve-wracking tie at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, M.S. Dhoni broke into a wide grin while holding a book here on Monday evening.

“Give this book to any cricketer and he will smile,” Dhoni said after launching Stumped , a book of cricket caricatures on the Indian team at the ICC World Cup.

For the avid cricket fan

Illustrated with player caricatures by artist Shijo Varghese and pepped up with the witty remarks of Andy Zaltzman, the book is meant for the avid cricket lover and it can also be used to collect autographs as players can sign across their caricatures.

Harbhajan Singh, who was present along with Virat Kohli and Piyush Chawla, pointed to a picture of Gautam Gambhir with over-sized ears and said: “This is my favourite and Gautam Gambhir looks like Gautam Gambhir!”

When asked about their personal favourites, Dhoni picked a yawning Yuvraj Singh, Virat backed an aggressive S. Sreesanth and Piyush opted for a dreamy Munaf Patel.

The Indian captain said if he ever had the chance to request an artist to draw a caricature, he would select Sachin Tendulkar as his subject.

“Usually people use sheets of paper while asking for autographs and this book can also be used to get autographs.

“A player will look at these pictures and immediately sign. I grew up in a small city like Ranchi and had no chance of meeting players for autographs,” Dhoni said.

The limited edition book can be purchased through www.cricketcaricatures.com and queries can be addressed to cricketcaricatures@gmail.com.
