Devdutt Pattanaik spent fifteen years in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry before becoming a full-time author, speaker and illustrator who draws attention to the relevance of myth and mythmaking to modern life especially in the realms of management, leadership and entrepreneurship. He has written 25 books and over 400 articles on both Indian and World mythologies, for both adults and children. A columnist with The Economic Times and The Speaking Tree, and a TEDIndia speaker, his unconventional yet accessible approach to sacred stories, symbols and rituals, and its role in culture, society and industry, has led to two popular shows on TV: "Business Sutra" with CNBC-18 and "Shastrarth" with CNBC-Awaaz. He serves as the Chief Belief Officer for the Future Group, India's largest retail chain, and as a story consultant to Star TV.
