Gabo: Latin America’s magical voice

Gabriel Garcia Marquez, father of ‘Magic Realism’, is no more. The most important Spanish novelist after Cervantes, Marquez brought literature from Latin America to the world and opened new ways of seeing to millions of readers as his books were translated into more than 20 languages. A scion of the Left, he was the most powerful voice of Latin America and made the world feel the anguish and agony of the continent in transition. Photos: AP
