Easterine Kire

Easterine Kire is a poet, novelist, and writer of children’s books. She also writes short stories and some of her short stories are translated to German.

Her first novel, A Naga Village Remembered (Ura Academy 2003) was also the first Naga novel in English to be published.

She has a Ph.D in English literature from the University of Pune. In 2011 she was awarded the governor’s medal for excellence in Naga literature.

Her poetry and books have been translated to German, Croatian, Uzbek, Norwegian and Nepali.

She is currently based in Northern Norway where she concentrates on her writing, and performs jazz poetry with her band, Jazzpoesi.
