Bibek Debroy

Bibek Debroy is an economist and professor at the Centre for Policy Research and a columnist with The Economic Times. Aside from several publications on economics, he has translated the Vedas (Books For All), Puranas (BR Publishing), Upanishads (BR Publishing) and Bhagvad Gita (Penguin India) into English. His book Sarama and her Children: The Dog in Indian Myth (Penguin India) splices his interest in Hinduism with his love for dogs. He is currently working on the translation of the Mahabharata (Penguin India), of which six volumes have already been released.

Bibek Debroy will participate in a panel discussion — Accidental India: An Economic History of Modern India — in Delhi on February 6, 2013, on the economic history of modern India with Shankkar Aiyar, Brinda Karat and Jayanthi Natarajan. Siddharth Varadarajan will moderate the discussion.
