Special issue of Wisdom released by High Court judge Jyothimani
In his 28 years of service postman R. Thangaraj has been the best at his work ensuring the safe delivery of letters to its recipients. On Tuesday, his service was honoured along with those of other veterans from different walks of life, by the monthly magazine Wisdom.
An artist, constable, school principal, home guard, playwright, scout, blood donor and an AC loco driver were among those who were presented the 38th Wisdom International awards for exhibiting exemplary merit in their fields.
Violinist A. Kanyakumari received the Wisdom International Star of India award and was conferred the title ‘Sangeetha Rathna.' Veteran theatre artist Koothapiran received the K.V.S. Sarath Babu Memorial Wisdom International award for lifetime excellence and was conferred the title ‘Sevaa Rathna' for his service in promoting social awareness.
Releasing the special issue of Wisdom, Madras High Court judge P. Jyothimani said the lives of the award winners and the dedication they have exhibited at work is an encouragement for others to follow and replicate.
Chithra Madhavan, post-doctoral fellow, Indian Council of Historical Research said Wisdom has information packed in every subject of study and caters to people of all age groups.
Voice edition CD
The voice edition CD of the magazine was also launched for the visually impaired by K.R. Seethalakshmi, Head of the Department (Music), Queen Mary's College.
K.V. Govinda Rao, Editor-in-Chief of Wisdom, and K.V.S. Vijaya Kumar, the publisher, participated.
