Rukmini Devi Arundale, Bharatanatyam dancer and choreographer, and the illustrious founder of ‘Kalakshetra’, is known for having revived the dance form from its original style prevalent among temple dancers. She also contributed towards the re-establishment of traditional Indian arts and crafts. This year marks the 106th birth anniversary of the legend.
