“Nature is an inspiration; it colours and shapes my thoughts.” Ranjeeta Kant's paintings indeed are a portrayal of her profound love for nature and her growing concern for its rapid degradation. “In the present age and time,'s there is a major threat to the environment. There has to be a more peaceful coexistence between man/woman and nature to stop the degradation,” she feels.

Ranjeeta's latest collection, “Dance of the Rainbow” is inspired by her recent visit to the island of Bali. She makes use of different textures and a combination of bright and subtle colours to capture the myriad aspects of Bali's ethereal landscape on her canvas — the paddy fields, the lotus ponds, the ocean and the flora and fauna. At the same time, she is also deeply mesmerised by the culture of Bali, which brings about a beautiful interaction between humans and nature, something she really feels for. “These have become the reservoir of my images to be drawn upon and painted on the canvas. I have used colour, form and texture to create a landscape which at times looks surreal,” says Ranjeeta. Indeed, her works, “The Surreal Landscape”, “Harmonious Existence” and “Dance of the Rainbow”make use of abstract, yet beautiful imagery which shows how humans and nature can coexist in a harmonious manner.

Asked about her artistic inspirations, she says she is greatly inspired by her guru Rameshwar Broota and M.F. Hussain.
