After a successful stint on the silver screen, Feluda, the witty detective, created by film legend Satyajit Ray will now return as a cartoon series.
Indian production and distribution group DQE is to produce an animated tele-movie and TV series based on the book The Mysteries of Feluda .
‘The Kathmandu Caper’ the first animated tele-movie is being adapted and written for animation in London by the famous children’s writer Charles Hodges.
The detective novels and short stories were written by Oscar winning filmmaker Ray who along with his son, director Sandeep Ray, produced several movies based on them including award winning Shonar Kella , Joi Baba Felunath , Bombaiyer Bombete and more.
Tapaas Chakravarti Chairman and CEO of DQE Group said, “We have confirmed acquisition for Indian broadcasting in several languages from a leading global broadcaster and this has been a huge affirmation that these stories will be received well by audiences.”
The new tele-film revolves around the kidnapping of a stranger in the neighbourhood which leads Feluda, his 14-year-old cousin Topshe, his friend Jatayu and Bones their wily dog to Kathmandu.
