Musical medley: Big Bang Blues performs on October 21
Delhi-based band Big Bang Blues will take over the stage at Blend, Taj Club House. It is part of the six-member band’s five-city launch tour to promote its debut extended play (EP) ‘Bigger Than Blues’. Known for its blues-meets-rock, rhythm-n-blues and a little bit of jazz, the band has included all original music written and composed by its members for the EP. Add colour to Navaratri: Exhibition of an assortment of dolls from across the country
Poompuhar presents the Kolu Toys Fair , an exhibition of dolls, in view of the ongoing nine-day Navaratri festival. It offers figurines of gods and goddesses, animals and more made out of clay, papier mache, ceramic, terracotta, marble dust, plaster of Paris, Kolkata clay, white marble stone, wood, radium, cloth etc. The doll sets come in themes such as Dasawatharam set, Vinayagar, Darbar, Ashtalakshmi, Sangeetha Mummoorthikal, Girivalam, Mysore Dasara, Mamallapuram, Garudasevai, Thirupathi, Cricket, Kuberan, Vaikundam etc. The dolls on display are from States including Andhra Pradesh (Kondapalli, Channapatna and Ettikoppaka), Karnataka, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Puducherry.
The exhibition offers a discount of 10 per cent on kolu dolls. It is on till October 23 at Poompuhar showroom, No. 108, Anna Salai from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. (including Sundays).
