Adhilakshmi Films and Big Screen Cinemas’ Vellai Kaagitham is produced by E. Raja. Directed by G. V. Chandar, the movie has music by Sathish Varshan and cinematography by Dinesh Sre. M. N. Raja is the editor, while Jana is the art director. ‘Mirattal’ Selvam has choreographed the stunts. S. Sathish and Deepthi Nambiyar play the lead, while Mayilsamy, Subbu Panju, Devadharshini, Martin Jayaraj, Nellai Siva, Rekha Suresh, Venkatesh, Vichu and Meena comprise the rest of the cast. The audio of the film was released by playback singer S. Janaki and received by actor Vivek.

Music highlights

There are five songs in the album. ‘Vizhiyoram Vizhiyoram,’ written by Viveka and sung by S. Janaki, wins hands down. The same lyricist’s next number, ‘Kangal Pesum,’ sung by Karthik and Chinmayee, is good. ‘Iruvizhi Orumozhi,’ written by Nagakumar and sung by Prasanna and Priyanka, is a beautiful melody. The same lyricist’s ‘Kaalam Podum,’ sung by Madhu Balakrishnan, in rag Keeravani, makes you feel good. ‘License Illama’ is another nice number, written by Vinod and sung by Mukesh.

What they say…

Producer E. Raja: I decided to make the film impressed with the way director Chandar narrated the storyline to me. After seeing the rushes, we are sure of its success. The screenplay has a lot of interesting twists and turns. The song by legendary singer S. Janaki is bound make a great impact. Last but not least, the title kindles one’s curiosity.

Director G. V. Chandar: I worked with Amudeshwar as assistant director for some time. Director Suseendharan and I are good friends and have worked together. The entire cast and the crew have put in their best to make Vellai Kaagitham a success.

Hero S. Satish: I got this opportunity when I was planning to join college. I was an accomplished athlete in school. I am 6.3 ft tall — perhaps the director has cast me as the hero impressed with my height. When I decided to do the role of the protagonist, I started learning stunts and dance. I am eagerly awaiting the release of the film, which, I hope, will get me more work.

Music director Satish Varshan: I am a keyboard player, flautist and a singer. I did my diploma from the Music College in Chennai and graduated in music from the Madras University. I learnt western music from Abdul Sattar and the theory from Venkatesh. After several advertisement films and jingles, I am scoring the music for a feature film and I am doubly happy it has come out to the satisfaction of all.
