A rose, a candle, a couplet. Rajesh Khanna, Hindi cinema’s first real superstar who passed away in Mumbai following a prolonged illness on Wednesday, used these props freely and easily to capture for the first time in Indian cinema a romance that was both adult and modern.
He was made less by the characters he played or the lines penned by dialogue writers than his idiosyncratic mannerisms — the drawls, the pauses, the sudden sparkle in his eyes, the fresh and easy smile, and the playful tilt of the head. Even when stricken with cancer, or ‘lymphosarcoma of the intestine — as Anand, a character he played in the film of the same name, was — that tilt and smile barely faltered.
To understand what Rajesh Khanna was or how he altered the persona of the film hero, it is important to stress what he was not. He was not a loveable tramp like Raj Kapoor, nor a tragedy king like Dilip Kumar. He did not trade on his masculinity like Dharmendra and rarely, if ever, played the hero with shades of grey as Dev Anand liked to do. He was the stuff of soft romance, his characters often earnest and virtuous, his performances enhanced by a face that was a fortune and a style of acting that used eyes, lips, hands, and vocal chords to great effect.
Women, who were driven to distraction by his carefree and non-threatening charm, swooned over him in droves. As Sharmila Tagore, his co-star in many films, observed, the hysteria around his stardom reached feverish pitches with women marrying his photographs and pulling at his clothes. In the mid-Seventies, three women slit their wrists during the screening of Aap ki Kasam in old Delhi.
He got his break in cinema in Chetan Anand’s Aakhri Khat in 1966 as a result of winning a talent competition.
This was followed by Ravindra Dave’s Raaz, opposite Babita, which he regarded as his first major break. But it was only a couple of years later, when he made bold to play almost a second fiddle to Sharmila Tagore in Shakti Samanta’s Aradhana, that a star was born. Despite being a heroine-oriented film, the mix of S.D. Burman’s mesmerising music and Kishore Kumar’s voice, brought Rajesh Khanna into his own. The song “Mere sapno ki rani” became a youth anthem of the ‘60s and is still remembered for its memorable train sequence. Ironically it was entirely canned with Rajesh Khanna shot in a jeep in Darjeeling and Sharmila Tagore, pictured in a train, filmed in Bombay’s Nataraj studio.
The two would go on to forge a successful partnership in other films such as Safar and Amar Prem. He also had a fine run with Mumtaz, doing eight films with her, and in the bargain helping her to graduate from a B-grade movie actress to the top league.
Affectionately called Kaka, he charmed and yodelled his way through a series of films such as Do Raaste, Roti, Kati Patang, Bawarchi and Anand. His success was all the more remarkable as it came at a time when the industry was still singing hosannas to the peerless Raj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar and Dev Anand. But with a record 15 consecutive superhits, there was no questioning his quick and undisputed ascent to superstardom.
In truth, he must owe at least a small portion of his success to Kishore Kumar’s songs such as “Mere sapno ki rani”, “Roop tera mastana” and “Karvate badalte rahe saari raat hum.”. After the success of Haathi Mere Saathi, Salim-Javed who had penned the film, offered to refashion Khanna’s image as an Angry Young Man. He declined. And his loss was Amitabh Bachchan’s gain.
Khanna’s decline came as rapidly as his rise. After a decade of ruling the box office, his position was usurped by Bachchan, who had acted with him in Anand. Rajesh Khanna was not getting any younger and the cinema fans of the 1980s and 1990s seemed ready for a more volatile and rebellious hero. After attempts to romance the much younger Jayaprada and Sridevi in Awaaz and Masterji flopped miserably, he took on a semi-comic role in Maqsad. He tried to stay in the hunt with multi-starrers, but with the exception of Avtar, a weepy saga remembered more for its bhajan “Chalo bulava aaya hai,” success eluded him.
His personal life, which included a broken marriage with Dimple Kapadia, was chequered. And unlike Bachchan, he was unable to refashion himself to remain relevant in Bollywood once he reached the middle age. It was only somewhat recently that he did his first commercial, a television advertisement for a fan manufacturer. With the popular song “Yeh Shaam Mastani” in the background and an old, almost infirm Rajesh Khanna in the foreground, it was an attempt to evoke nostalgia.
The advertisement was greeted with mixed reactions, with many fans preferring to remember him as the man he was at the height of his powers, the charmer who successfully serenaded and seduced the best actresses on screen. But it was a reminder that Rajesh Khanna, despite his flirtation with politics and his stint as a Congress Lok Sabha MP between 1992 and 1996, always yearned to be under the arc-lights. That was his true place, even if he found it difficult to accept that stardom, like life itself, is a transient thing.
Rajesh Khanna, actor, died in Mumbai on 18 July 2012, aged 69. He was born in Amritsar on 29 December 1942. He is survived by two daughters, Twinkle and Rinke.

Keywords: Rajesh Khanna death, Bollywood superstar

The first and may be the last Super duper Star of Hindi Cinema.A great human being also.May God rest soul in peace.
He was a rare combination, a very good actor who would go the skin of
his role. He did diversified roles from the beginning of his career
that took him to the pinnacle of stardom.A natural performer with an
endearing style of his own which was unmatched.a glorious chapter in
the history of Indian cinema,Bollywood in particular has lost an actor
nonpareil.A void that can never be filled. May God rest the soul in
peace.
It is very painful to say that Rajesh khanna is no more
I wanted to be a part of his way from Aashirwad to Cremation ground.
His songs mae us cry, feel good and will make so to the generations coming
We will MISS U
Anand mara nahi, Anand marte nahi..
Losing a superstar is very lamentable for all of us. He was the first
person in the cine industry who taught us a lesson of love and romance.
His work makes him immortal, and he'll always be alive in our hearts.
His name comes at first place when we talk about the heroes of classical
movies. He thrilled millions by his stupendous acting. Person with such
virtues only comes once in a century. We're gonna miss him. My deepest
sympathy goes out to his family, and may his soul rest in peace.
Rajesh Khanaa, a handsome film personality with a style of his own
we love u and miss u alot alwazzzzzzzzzzzzzz
RIP Rajesh Khanna...
it is very sad to hear about kaka.
He was/is champion of indian film industry. He Performed (Yeh jo mohabbat hai), I think he was/is not like that.
Rajesh, the real Superstar of Bolywood would have been consumed to
flames by this time, but he will live forever in the minds of his Fans.
Such was the charisma created and left by him. His Fans will always
remember and recollect him whenever they see films like 'Kati Patang',
Aap Ki Kasam' or 'Namak Haram'.
A great superstar indeed. But the columnist is not quite right about Kaka having
played the sweet, virtuous heartthrob with no shades of gray. Let us remember
that he took on parts which were highly unconventional for the times, e.g. dying
several times in his movies (the hero was usually invincible), and playing unlikeable
characters, e.g. in The Train (famous for the song "Gulabi Aankein") or "Aap ki
Kasam" where you see him jealously doubting his virtuous wife (played by Mumtaz)
where the store for once does not end with "They married and lived happily ever
after" but goes on to show the marriage breaking.
Admittedly, the movies of today go further in some ways but Kaka did do
unconventional movies at that time. His failure to adapt to his age is something we
have seen in most superstars. We cannot hold it against him.
One just wonders if a real-life union with Mumtaz may not have been better for
him, given their excellent on-screen chemistry. We'll never know.
RIP Kaka!
Words cannot express the pangs we suffer at the untimely demise of a
well sung hero who accompanied us in our love of Indian Cinema. May
Jannat al firdaus be bestowed on Rajeshji
A superstar of yester years who enthralled and entertained the
film fans and the general public alike is no more.He is the one of the
leading titans of film world who has left behind the romantic fervour
among the young fans.THE young fans used to imitate his dress
especially his kurtha and hair style. With the coming up of the
competitive new actors, his popularity received a body-blow.In his
private life also was not all that happy. We can easily conclude that he
can be a role model for upcoming actors. In his later years he became
a member of the Rajya Sabha and has many friends in Parliament.A
patriot of the first order, he will be an inspiration to the young
generation. Our heart goes out in mourning his death and send our
condolences to the bereaved family. We pray that
:Let his soul rest in peace"
In my short visit to Delhi in 1982, I had an opportunity to meet him at the Delhi Airport with Jeetendra. Maybe they were there for the shoot of Dharm kanta, a multi-starrer with Raj Kumar. It was first time that I saw a Hindi film star face to face, and that too a super star of school days. It was a great surprise to me, and I ran into a book stall to buy a novel for getting his autograph. I did not feel that he was a super star when I handed over the novel to him. He was clad in such simple dress then that showed his simplicity in his behaviour. He smiled, looked at the novel, and took me to the ticket counter to write properly "love" and put his signature in his good handwriting. I more often recapitulate this. He was not only the first super star, but also a best super star in his simplicity. My heartfelt condolence.
We missed him very much. The star of yester years remembered for ever through his melodious songs. In many of his songs he asked every one to take death lightly. With the same spirit he breathed last.He will be remembered forever in the cine world. His actions & songs through singer Kishoreda, music directors RD.Burman and others added to his credit & were equally responsible for his success. From 60s to 80s he never looked back.He was hero in the heart of the then younger generation, who are unable to forget him even today.
A star like you can never be forgotten, you will always be in our heart.Alvidaa Babhu Moshai. :( :(
Rajesh Khanna, a real superstar. I will miss him a lot!!
The rainy season just endended and there was bright sunshine. The
morning session of the college over we were having boiled rice with
“Southekai Huli” at Kalu Bhatta’s Shivaprasad Hotel. This was for
lesser mortals and students from well to do background used to have
food at more expensive ‘Mithra Samaja’.The year was 1970 and we were
studying for our degree course at the august MGM College of Udupi. On
that day our plan was to bunk the afternoon classes and go for a movie
at the historic Kalpana cinema. There was mad rush and with difficulty
we could get the ticket. After advertisements for
Clogate,Hamam,Sunlight and Kasturi soaps were over a news reel showing
Mrs.Indira Gandhi welcoming Alexi Kosigin was also shown. Then started
the picture and the super hero the heartthrob of all beautiful girls
of not just MGM College but the entire country, Rajesh Khanna
arrived. He donned the role of an Air Force pilot and was courting the
charming Sharmila Tagore.Suddenly he was called to war and Sharmila
bade him farewell with tears in her eyes.Needless to say many in the
audience also wiped their eyes. When his plane was lost we waited with
bated breath for news of him. Finally the devastating news of his death
in arrived and all in the audience were shell shocked.Such was the
quality of acting. Many of my generation by this time would guessed
which film I am talking about. It was Shakthi Samanths’s ‘Aradhana’.His
re-entry as his son in the later part of the film was no consolation.
Generally I watch a little TV while having lunch, mainly news channels on rare occassions when any of them telecast news in the midst of advertisements.Yesterday an English news channel broke the sad news of
Rajesh Khanna’s death.I could not relish my lunch and had a lump in my
throat.
A great actor who galvanized the public like none before him. A
true Superstar. We will miss him dearly. May his soul RIP.
its Very Shocked To Hear That My Fav Actor kakaji (Rajesh Khanna)Passed Away ,I Saw Him In Last time When He Brought From Hospital .He was A Super Stat ,He Is a Super Star And He Will Superstar For Us ,God Bless And Give peace to His Soul .
Indian cinema has lost a "pearl in the ocean". Bollywood's romance king will never be forgotten, because if it was not for him, we would have been love-lorn as far as cinema is concerned. And I say this even when other heroes portrayed immense romance on screen, none could match the panache of Babu Moshayi. May you Rest In Peace in the heavens above and inspire the future breed of upcoming actors to try and become something like you. You will always be remembered as long as Bollywood remains.
Rajesh Khanna-what a great actor! He was as constant as the NORTHERN STAR.I saw AARADHANA several times for his action and songs.I never missed any of his films.Indian film industry is orphaned.Raajesh sahib though you are out of sight you will never be out of our thoughts.GOD ALMIGHTY let his soul rest in everlasting peace.Deepest condolences to all the members of his family.
The Real superstar, who made the whole India & foreign people to make love and romance.........lakhs of lakhs people from across the country fell in love and found his dream girl, their dreams came true because of the "KAKA".......KORA KAGAJ THA YE MAN MERA......LIKH LIYA NAAM ISPE TERA...... You will can not DIE.
Highly regret for my superstar. I'm missing you forever but still you will be ever in my heart.
after Dev anand the Real AANAND has gone from bollywood, but the
outstanding performances he left in big hits of his time will keep his
fan's hearts warm forever!
as our great Gandhi was whole nation's Bapu, he was like Bapu of
Bollywood!
songs like Mere sapnon ki raani, Chala jata hoon kisi ki dhun me,
Jindegi kaisi hai paheli haaye, Ye jo mohabbat hai are my best
companions in both good & bad times!
Old is Gold, has just been proved again on 18 july 2012!
Rajesh sir you were a true legend and did what you were born to do!
Universities around the world have Phd's to offer on A R Rehaman & M S
Dhoni but if someone go after research for Rajesh's life, the
inevitable fact that would come out would prove that no Celebrity ever received such a frenetic & freaking fans (specially females) as our
beloved legendary Rajesh sir!
kudos to you sir
Rajesh Khanna was my mother's and my favourite actor.
He was really someone who worked very hard and made very popular and
good movies like Aradhana,Aap ki Kasam,Anand etc.But now we have lost
him. It's really sad to hear the news....I couldn't believe it...
We will never forget him................
Anand movie is one of the best of movies acted by Rajesh Khanna. Happiness in the face of adversity even as the clock of death was ticking, symbolized the stoic nature of the Indian people whose daily life is struggle but still continue to have anand (happiness) in life and keep going. It was also the movie where the baton was passed to Amitabh Bachan who became the next superstar of the late 70s thru 80s.
The combination of Rajesh Khanna, Kishorekumar and Burmans is terrific. I used to
Hindi Movies without knowing the meaning of dialogues but only for the melodious
songs.
As a young girl,I used to run to the theatres with my friends to watch
Rajesh Khanna movies. We had to be there for the first show. We listened
to his songs countless number of times. There was something unique that
attracted all young and old towards Kakaji. He will live in our hearts
forever.
He was one of the best actor in the bollywood film industry.
Our deepest condolence to the family.we will miss you Khanna sahib.
may god rest his soul in peace.
Zindagi Ek Safar hai Suhana....yahan Kal kya Ho Kisne Jana...!!!
RIP The Superstar RAJESH KHANNA.
Its Very Sad To Hear Of His Death, But He Is Our Real All Time Hero.
His unparalleled mannerisms and curious dialogue delivery characterized by a fresh blend of soft flamboyance and complex subtlety shaped the way he emoted a number of unforgettable characters made up of romantic joyfulness, heroic courageousness, desolateness, wretchedness, pitiful innocence, sadness, forlorn loneliness, bleakness etc creating a kind of an unique acting style that ushered in an era which would revel in the artistic expression of his multifaceted prowess, and confer on him the status of super stardom that would remain unmatched, unequaled and exceptional to this day.
Mr. Rajesh Khanna is a phenomenon. Phenomenons always exist.
I deeply shocked to hear the very sad demise of Mr.Rajesh Khanna,he was the real superstar of the hindi cinema,i offers my deep condolence to his bereaved family and his countless fan and admirers.
Shri Rajesh Khanna deserves a tearful adieu from the connoisseurs of Hindi cinema as well as the front-benchers. He has already carved a niche in the Indian film industry as the first super star of the industry. His stellar performance will be sorely missed, though his brilliant performance in great Hindi films will be remembered till the industry lasts.
I always liked the movie "Anand". I just miss him.
The first ever actor with whom the word "superstar" was attached...
First ever actor who had such a huge stardom...
First ever superstar to give 15 hit in a row...
And the list continues...
I appreciated him a lot & his dialogues... love him and "bhagwan unki
aatma ko shanti de"
Words cannot express the pangs we suffer at the untimely demise of a well sung hero who accompanied us in our love of Indian Cinema. May Jannat al firdaus be bestowed on Rajeshji
Rajesh khanna a true star of three generations !
Hats off to kaka
R I P
May his soul rest in peace..
Its really very sad to know about his death. Mumtaz's second on-screen dies within a week. First Dara Singh on 12th July and today India's 1st Superstar. RIP Rajesh Khanna.
On a different note: Let God allow him to reborn as Twinkle is due.
All the RKs in the Hindi-filmdom if I may call them, they were all magnificent in their own rights and Mr. Rajesh Khanna stays on the top in his sphere for sure! I remember while studying at Campion School in Trichy, my always very good school-mate-friend Madan Makhija did take me along to Gaiety Theater to watch Aradhana! RK was and will be in our hearts and his own style in his acts and songs will never wash away from our minds! May his soul rest in peace and our heartfelt condolences to the family and the world as his family!
Great Hero with great contribution !
Great Hero but did greatest mistake in life by marrying to Dimple and
result you see today death by exhaustion .
The great film star forever. We will never forget his songs and acting.
Let his soul rest in peace.A great actor, and real superstar of Indian cinema.First superstar of bollywood. What an impressive array of films, nobody can surpaas him, kaka,RIP.
Rajesh Khanna will be remembered by film goers of 70s and 80s as one who entertained them with his style, mannerism, delivery. No doubt he was the superstar, first and somehow Bengali scripts suited his personality better than any other character. His political career was a mishap. May God Rest his soul in peace! Bcoz He Dont Like Tears Friendzzzzzz !
Rajesh Khanna was the last of Heroes of Indian cinema that epitomised what is good, right, just and pure and beautiful. That is why he is so more relevant today unlike other superstars who were smugglers, murderer and abusive towards women.
We miss Rajesh Khanna because we miss all that was good in those days and valued.
Superstar Rajesh Khanna's sad demise is very painful. He had unique
acting-traits. The youth used to copy his way of walking, speaking and
movement. He will be missed but remembered by his fans for ever.
The superstar RAJESH KHANNA may be mortal, but his work is immortal. His acting and films will continue to touch and entertain millions and he will live through his creations. His performance in a great number of films is unmatched and he will always be remembered as a brilliant actor and star who epitomized love for life ,hope and optimism. He was a self made actor ,capable of mersmerising and captivating the audiences...Long live superstar....
Without any doubt the film industry have lost a very gifted and
competent actor of the yesteryears. His death is irreparable loss to our
film industry. His far-fetched contribution to the film industry is
immense for which will be always remembered.
Rajesh Khanna will be alive in your heart. His acting and style was
great. It is unfortunately our two great star passed away in this year.
Dev sahab and Rajesh Khanna. May god give peace to his soul.
When I was a kid, my family liked to bring me to see his movies, such as
Apna desh,Haathi Mere Saathi, Andaz. I love that. May he rest in peace.
We miss you Rajesh Khanna.
RIP Rajesh JI
By virtue the songs of Rajesh Khannas movies are most memorable and the best in class.
He was at ease whatever role he did
May his soul rest in peace.
R.I.P kaka
Once I saw Anand. I don't know what was in the film before watching. After first watch. I used to the film "Anand". On every occasion whether before exam, post exam, in the moment of loneliness i always went through Anand.
I liked very much the film and the character Anand. The film had a message which still holds.
That is/was the persona of Rajesh Khanna.
Rajesh Khanna a legendry hero. R.I.P to Rajesh Khanna
He had enthralled and given much pleasure to many cenema goers. Bless his soul. He will
be missed! RIP
It is too sad to hear after Devanand one more superstar is no more with us. The movies specially 'Anand','Dushman','Roti' and 'Bawarchi' to name a few which we saw a lot of times with my father in childhood . We are going to miss you kaka.
Sad demise of Kaka is really painful. I loved watching his films, he had created new milestones in his acting career that will be remembered always.
Its hard to imagine that Dear Kaka - Rajesh Khanna is no more. His passing away is indeed very sad. Ironically, Kaka should have had a glorious life, post the glorious days of Super Hits. Unfortunately, life after Bollywood was not kind to him, and he suffered in solitude for many, many years - deserted by friends and relatives - some of it, perhaps his own making.
All said, there will never be a star like him, the songs of Bollywood will never be like the ones sung with him and for him, and there will be no more scripts and stories with Kaka and for Kaka.
We will have to live with the memories and images of Aradhana, Kati Patang, Daag, Andaaz....................
Good Bye Kaka, we will miss you. Atleast, we are glad your family was with at the end, to wish you Good Bye.
I feel very sad at the sudden demise of Rajesh Khanna. May his soul rest in peace.
...After the Anti-Hindi agitation ,screening of Hindi films were stopped! It was " Rajesh Khanna's Araadhanaa " which revived a love for Hindi films among Tamils of TamilNadu. The film ,if I am correct ,ran for 25-weeks. Now Tamils crave for Hindi films , want to learn Hindi to join the mainstream and improve their job opportunities in the north
I remember his carefree and lively presence on screen for song "Zindagi ek safar hai suhana - yahan kal kya ho kisne jaana" (life is a beautiful journey but no one knows what happens tomorrow) - one of the best songs and gives a philosophical message as well. Here we are mourning passing of the first Super Star of Indian Cinema, one who had universal appeal. May God bless his soul and grant eternal peace. May God grant strength to his bereaved family in this difficult time.
We will miss you .....
rip rajesh khanna.
May your soul rest in peace.
you are merged with Yeh phoolonke rangse.
The greatest actor of 20th century.
ohh MY GOD
Rajesh Khanna, the best actor ever, good-looking, charismatic, romantic, cheeky, and honourable. May God bless his soul, his films were so good, he really was the first and best superstar. Yet agian, he will be so missed and RIP..
Bawarchi is one of my all time favorites. Rest in peace o filmstar!
Rajesh Khanna had an unique acting style, a set of mannerisms and electrified the screen with his magical presence. He endeared himself to an entire generation with his acting prowess and rightly earned the sobriquet ' the phenomenon'. He might have had his failings but before the camera he was a performer sans pareil.
Asa Ensan Ko Salam Jo Ke Kabi Nahi Fail Hota
Sad to hear of Rajesh Khanna's demise and wish his family all the
strength Krsna can give.RIP.
we can never forget him.he has been our superstar...it is great tribute
from my side to superstar Rajesh khanna...film Anand what a fantastic
film...he has been ailing for lots of days.may god give him peace
May his soul rest in peace and my heart felt condolences the bereaved family.
RIP,tribute to the superstar, who ruled industry...
I salute his contribution to socity for a unfogatable entertainment.
I cannot forget him in my life. Our deep condolence to his family.
He came at a time, when all the stars were fading away.He came as an outsider and brought with him freshness and a youthful looks , a natural hair style unlike the wig era of ageing heroes, softness in voice. It is always said that a man should possess a bit of feminine features to make him attractive and appealing to the girls and ladies.Black hair with a grey tinge always attracted attention .He was also very fortunate in getting plum romantic roles in all his films. All his leading ladies got an equal amount of publicity and popularity by pairing with him, be it Sharmila tagore, Mumtaz, waheeda,Tanuja, Rekha and the like. His love life was also a centre of attraction for the press in the seventies and Eighties. Getting married to a teenager, eloping with two other leading ladies and dying a loner. He was truly the superstar of indian movies, though our own MGR carried more popularity and hits to his name.I am sure he would have died in peace, having lived a full life.
Anytime, any day I would watch his Anand and Bawarchi movies. Two things
that I learnt from these: Live for others as much as you live for
yourself and be happy at all times.
A great icon of the movie industry is no more... that is a loss!

A legend of the Paradise of Love has passed away.Right from Aradhana to all the youthful hits he gave,Rajesh proved to be the most sought- after incarnation of love!
No doubt, he captivated the youth of his time and the craze he created in the hearts of the boys and girls was truly real.
We have lost a real icon of unmatchable youth today!

RIP Sir.
Rajesh Khanna will be remembered by film goers of 70s and 80s as one who entertained them with his style, mannerism, delivery. No doubt he was the superstar, first and somehow Bengali scripts suited his personality better than any other character. His political career was a mishap. May his soul rest in peace!
He is one of my favourite actors. When I was at primary school they showed the Haathi Mera Saathi. That was my first movie of RajeshKhana. I love Aaradhana. May his sole rest in peace.
It is very sad to hear the death of a legendary actor who had ruled the bolywood for a long time. As a young college student, I saw many movies by Rajesh Khanna, particularly saw "Dushman" several times in Jalpaiguri. He had created his own style and was called among the youngesters in 70's as 'GURU'. Young people used to follow his style and fashion like that of Dev Anand. At the latter part of his life, he was a loner in absence of his wife and daughters. Recently I saw him on an award giving ceremony in TV show where he looked very frail and the magic smile from his face was gone. I pray for eternal peace of the departed soul. Long live Rajesh Khanna.
The Real Superstar 'Kaka'Rajesh Khanna may your soul RIP.Indian cinema has lost one charming versatile actor :(
its very sad to hear the news that rajesh khanna (kaka) passes away
i prey god to give peace to his soul we all lost our super star.
May his soul rest in peace. A wonderful actor...with a style of his own...loved his movie Anand and the song Mere sapno ki rani...Salute to you...
What a sad day today! Third straight loss to the bollywood after demise of Jagjeet Singh and Dara Singh. Rajesh Khanna was not only the first superstar from bollywood but was first heartthrob of bollywood.I will always miss him.
I never forget his movie song
Oh mere dil k chain
If he was suffering from liver sclerosis, then why did the family hide this from the media. It is nothing but crazy, as he was important for the thousands, if not, millions of Rajesh Khanna's fans. Its really sad to see all the good people leaving us one after another. First, it was late Shammi Kapoor, then second was Dara Singh and now, its Rajesh Khanna. Its one of the saddest days and times for Indian Cinema. Rajesh Khanna, I will always remember you. Jai Jai Shiv Shankar, may God bless your soul. RIP Sir!
R.I.P....Kaka...We miss you a lot.
A real superstar who gave very many hits, with haunting melodies.
May his soul rest in peace.
