What it is about…

J. J. Sweet Dreams Entertainment's Ivanum Panakkaran is produced by M. Srinivasan and directed by V. J. Jaganathan who is also in charge of the story and screenplay. The cast includes Sidesh, Kaniya, K. Bhagyaraj, Ashish Vidyarthi, Manobala, Ramesh Kanna, Rekha, Sriranjani and Raja of “Shankar Guru” fame. The camera is handled by K. C. Ramesh, while Suresh Ars has taken care of the editing. Srikanth Deva has scored the music. The shooting was held at various places such as Vedaranyam, Velankanni, Kodiyakkarai and Nagapattinam. The audio was recently released by director K. Bhagiyaraj and was received by actor Sakthi.

Music Highlights

‘Kala Kala Mazhaiye' in Saindhavi's voice is pleasant — Na. Muthukumar has penned the lyrics. Music director Srikanth Deva himself has sung the song ‘Saaralalla' with Chinmayi. It is written by Vaale. ‘Mele Saamida Kizhe Boomida,' written by director Perarasu and sung by music director Deva and Navin Madev, is good. Another song by the same lyricist is ‘Vettukili Kothuthadi' — sung by Mukesh and Suchitra; it is sure to top the charts. The last on the album ‘Andaka Kasam' is also written by director Perarasu and sung well by his wife Krishnaveni Perarasu.

What they say…

Producer M. Srinivasan: It was a blessing to have director K. Bhagyaraj work in the movie. He not only acted in it but also gave suggestions how to improve it. The film has come out well and I am sure the audience will like it.

Director V. J. Jaganathan: I have worked as an associate for Rama. Narayanan and Perarasu. When I decided to do a film, I requested director Perarasu to write the dialogue and some songs and he obliged. It was a boon to have veteran director Bhagyaraj play an important role. Ramesh Kanna has taken care of the comedy. Another highlight is nine directors are acting in the film. Perarasu's wife Krishnaveni has sung a song ‘Andaka Kasam.'

Music director Srikanth Deva: The story is about two friends who get separated and how one of their sons tries to unite them. The film offered good scope for re-recording and scoring songs that would have mass appeal. The feedback to the music has been good and after the film's release I feel I will get more appreciation.

Hero Sidesh: I got the offer to act in Ivanum Panakkaran when I was doing my first film Appavi . I learnt a lot working with director K. Bhagyaraj — he would tell us how to emote in a particular scene. I feel it is an honour to act in a film in which so many directors are acting.
