Arvind Krishna Mehrotra is a poet, translator, editor and essayist. He has published four books of poetry, and is the editor of several anthologies including the influential Oxford India Anthology of Twelve Modern Indian Poets. He has also translated Prakrit love poems (The Absent Traveller: Prakrit Love Poetry, Penguin Classics) and selected poems of Kabir (Songs of Kabir, Hachette India -Black Kite). He has been a visiting writer at the University of Iowa’s International Writing Program and a Homi Bhabha Fellow. He lives in Allahabad and Dehradun.

Arvind Krishna Mehrotra will be in conversation with Jeet Thayil and Meena Kandasamy in a session titled Rhyme and Reason: The Power of Poetry in Chennai on February 16, 2013 at the Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall in Lady Andal School.
