You can watch silent movie icon Charlie Chaplin starring in animated 3-D series soon.

Producers at DQ Entertainment, Method Animation and MK2 are developing the as yet untitled programme for television, mobile, home video and internet viewers, Variety online reported.

The first season will consist of 104 six-minute episodes in colour and without dialogue, showing Chaplin’s character travelling around the world.

“There won’t be any direct movie adaptations. We will use gags from the films, pay homage and try and keep the spirit of Chaplin,” Method president Aton Soumache said.

The series is expected to debut in 2011.
