Lord Ganesha takes numerous forms

Lord Ganesha is people’s favourite and each of the few thousands of idols installed in Hyderabad at public places takes a unique shape and theme. If fine arts students used eco-friendly paper, a few stuck to Clay Ganesha, the colourful Khairatabad idol stood 60-feet tall. Elsewhere matchsticks, other bio-degradable material were used and others brought the latest political colour into the design of the pandal housing Lord Ganesha. The Hindu lensmen Nagara Gopal and D. Chakravarthy take a look at all hues of the elephant-headed Lord Ganesha idols in Hyderabad during 2014 Ganesh Navarathri celebrations. »
