Gopi scalps six

Coimbatore: Gopi picked six for 19 in Rainbow Wizards Cricket Club’s five-wicket win over ABT Cricket Club in the TNCA-CDCA third division league for the Servall Trophy at the Forest College grounds here on Sunday.

The scores: Third division: ABT CC 113 in 31 overs (Gopi six for 19) lost to Rainbow Wizards CC 114 for five in 26.3 overs (Janakiraman 53).

Fourth division: Miracle CC 95 in 26.5 overs (S. Karthik four for 29, Thiagarajan four for 19) lost to Zero Boys CC 96 for one in 12.5 overs (S. Karthik 44 not out, Sathish Kumar 36 not out); Cosmo Village SA ‘B’ 207 in 50 overs (K. Arun Kumar 41, S. Prasanna four for 51) bt Dolphin CC 147 in 29.3 overs (Mayurinathan 60); Lucky Youngstar CC 233 in 46 overs (Sandeep 67, Damodaran 32, Balakrishnan four for 28) lost to Rainbow 1972 MMCC 236 for two in 42.3 overs (Hariharan 37, Sasikumar 101, Sakthivel 72 not out).

Stanes Anglo Indian HSS and Alvernia MHSS took home the boys’ and girls’ titles respectively in the Rotabounce district level junior basketball tournament at the YMCA courts on Sunday.

Stanes defeated Perks 60-30, and Alvernia got the better of St. Joseph’s 46-32.
