PANAJI: An innovative on-line contest “T20 of Indian Cinema” launched by the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), co-host of the International Film festival of India(IFFI), in commemoration of the IFFI-’09, received a tremendous response, announced Goa Chief Minister Digambar Kamat here on Sunday. The Chief Minister, who is also the chairman of State-owned ESG, and Chief Executive Officer of ESG Manoj Srivatsava told journalists that the competition meant to select 20 best films made in India during last 96 years had elicited a whopping 1.9 million responses. The competition was open for the film lovers across the country. The results of the competition would be collated overnight with the list of jury and the ESG would try to fly the prize-winners for the awards ceremony to be held at the IFFI-’09 venue on Monday, Mr. Srivatsava said here. Sunday was the last day for the entries. A special fashion show on Monday evening showcasing 16 famous costumes will add glitter to the on-going festival.
