7.25 lakh photographed for health cards

SALEM: The district has completed the exercise of photographing 7.25 lakh beneficiaries for the issuance of identity cards under the Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme.

The cards will be issued shortly, a press release from the district administration pointed out.

A total of 24 hospitals including 22 private hospitals have been roped in to provide treatment to those covered by the scheme.

Till November 23, 1,042 beneficiaries had undergone health care treatment at a cost of Rs 4.66 crore under the scheme.

Besides for the benefit of beneficiaries, counselling centre is functioning at the Office of Deputy Director (Health) between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Further details can also be had from Primary Health Centres of respective areas or nearby government hospitals.

Village Health Nurses could also be contacted in this regard, the press release added.
