GUNTUR: The concept of cloud computing will drastically bring down the computing costs in future as one can have the computing facility and access to all kinds of software with a primitive system, and even on home desktop, said Tata Consultancy Services Senior Consultant Sujoy Bhattacharya. The Hyderabad-based expert on image processing and cloud computing delivered a lecture on several aspects related to the subject at Vignan University’s School of Electronics, at a two-day ‘Faculty Development Programme on “Image Processing and Cloud Computing” organised on Friday and Saturday. More than 70 faculty members from various engineering colleges attended this programme at which the University Registrar C. Narendar Reddy, and Director of Engineering and Technology KVN Srinivasa Rao attended as guests. The TCS consultant spoke on various simplified image processing applications and the thrust areas of research that could make this adpatable to all technologies. The company’s TEG-BPM Lead Rajesh Kumar Verma delivered a talk on cloud computing and its uses. Economic optionAccording to him, with the concept of cloud computing, the costs would come within reach of the vast majority. Old systems getting obsolete would become a thing of the past. School of Electronics Dean D. Venkata Rao, continued the concluding sessions with a talk on image quality assessment and another resourceperson Puvvada Ramesh gave a lecture on MRI imaging technologies. The faculty members expressed their gratitude for getting their knowledge updated through such contineous education programme on the campus.
