Pact with Congress to keep BJP at bay: Gowda

HASSAN: Janata Dal (Secular) president and former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda said that the State unit president H.D. Kumaraswamy and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president were holding talks in Delhi about poll alliance for the election for Legislative Council seats Local Bodies constituencies.The decision taken by them is the final.

Addressing presspersons here on Friday, Mr. Gowda said the reason for alliance between Congress and the Janata Dal (Secular) was to keep communal forces (BJP) at a distance.

On illegal mining by the Obulapuram Mining Company, owned by Tourism Minister G. Janardhan Reddy in Anantapur district in Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Gowda said that he would support the Telugu Desam Party demand for joint parliamentary committee to investigate activities of OMC and Anantapuram Mining Company.
