Officials stage dharna

SALEM: Officials at the Salem Collectorate staged a dharna for an hour in front of their offices in protest against the ‘rude’ behaviour of a few students of the private Law College here on Friday.

The officials alleged that the students went to the Office of Adi Dravidar Welfare Department and abused the officials there. They also demanded police protection to prevent further occurrences.

Denying the allegations, the students, however, claimed that basic amenities were not provided to the hostel in which they were staying despite repeated requests.
