New beginning: Actor Shilpa Shetty and husband Raj Kundra coming out of the Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirumala on Friday.

TIRUMALA: Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty, who got married recently, on Friday offered prayers at the temple of Lord Venkateswara.

Shilpa, accompanied by her husband Raj Kundra, a London-based businessman, sister Shamita Shetty and her close relatives, participated in the celestial Abhishekam of Lord Venkateswara performed only on Fridays.

The newly-wedded couple reached the temple town on Thursday late in the night.

The TTD reception officials kept the actor and her family’s visit a highly guarded secret .

Although the news regarding her visit to the shrine trickled in on Thursday morning, mediapersons were in a state of confusion due to the attitude of some top reception officials.

The TTD officials who themselves had organised for her comfortable stay atop the temple town were on an enquiry spree asking mediapersons details regarding her visit.
