Works completed at cost of Rs. 107 crore

SALEM: A total of 10,647 works have been completed at a cost of Rs. 107 crore in the district, said Collector J. Chandrakumar.

Addressing the District Panchayat Council meeting here on Thursday, the Collector said that during 2009-10, as many as 46,299 works at a cost of Rs. 234 crore were undertaken.

So far, 10,647 works had already been completed.

Officers from various panchayats also explained in detail various development schemes in their panchayats.

He asked the officials to control mosquito menace.

Computers would be given to elementary schools soon.

He also assured the members that all other demands of theirs would be considered.
