MYSORE: People of Mysore paid rich tributes to the police personnel and commandos killed in the Mumbai terror attack, at a function here on Thursday to mark its first anniversary.

They recalled the dark moments of 26/11 and the grit and bravery exhibited by the police personnel and commandos.

Alert Citizens’ Team (ACT), an initiative of the Mysore City Police and citizens of Mysore, held a candlelight vigil in honour of the police officers and commandos killed in action. They took out a procession in the city.

Students from various schools, NCC cadets, and personnel from the Police Department were among those who participated in the peace march. Police Commissioner Sunil Agarwal, Deputy Commissioner of Police B.R. Ravikante Gowda, Additional Deputy Commissioner Betsurmath, and Shivaram Malavalli of ACT led the procession.

The city unit of the BJP Yuva Morcha observed the anniversary of Mumbai terror attack as National Security Day here on Thursday. They held a meeting at Gandhi Square and paid homage to those killed in the terror attack.
