No-trust motion unseats KGF CMC president, vice-president

KOLAR: The Kolar Gold Fields (Robertsonpet) City Municipal Council president M. Bhaktavatsalam and vice-president Sangeetha Srinivas were unseated from their posts on Wednesday through a no-confidence motion. As many as 23 among the 35 members of the local body had mooted a no-confidence motion, and the special meeting was fixed on Wednesday to decide the fate of the president and vice-president.

The no-trust motion was accepted with the support of 28 members, including MLA Y. Sampangi and five nominated members. All the 12 members, including Mr. Bhaktavatsalam and Ms. Sangeetha of the ruling group did not attend the meeting.

CMC Commissioner R.S. Yerrappa was present.
