HASSAN: The Alur police arrested four persons for allegedly siphoning off diesel from the Mangalore-Bangalore pipeline passing through near Balekoppalu village in Alur taluk. The accused were remanded in judicial custody on November 22.,Superintendent of Police K.V. Sharatchandra said. The accused are Kantharaju (51), Darshan (25), Chandrashekhara Shetty alias Dinesh Shetty and HPCL line walker H.V. Girish and a few others. They reportedly confessed to have siphoned off 36,000 litres of diesel valued at Rs. 12 lakh.
