Humpy for Czech tournament
HYDERABAD: GM Koneru Humpy will take part in the Czech Republic invitational, international tournament to be held from November 27 to December 6, according to her father-cum-coach Koneru Ashok.
“It is a double-round Scheveningen match between chess legends and young ladies ‘Snowdrops vs Old Hands’ with each team comprising four players,” Ashok said.
Some of the big names who will be in action for the legends include Viktor Kortchnoi, Jan Timman, Robert Huebner and Vlastimil Hort. And, the ladies’ team includes Anna Muzychuk, Kateryna Lahno and Jana Jackova besides Humpy. — Principal Correspondent
