Fire near runway of Hubli airport

HUBLI: The special flight carrying the former Union Law Minister Ram Jethmalani had to delay its landing at Hubli airport as the dry grass next to the runway caught fire.

The flight had to take a few rounds before the airport staff extinguished the fire. The plane landed after the fire was put off completely.

Safety week

Airport Controller K.M. Basavaraj said that safety week was being observed and the fire was part of a mock drill.
