ELURU: The Palm Oil Rytula Karyacharana Committee on Monday appealed to the government to release a sum of Rs. 4.60 crore due to be paid to the growers as part of Market Intervention Scheme (MIS). A delegation from the committee, headed by its conveners Garapati Krishna and Penmatsa Rama Raju met K. Hymavati, Andhra Pradesh Oilfed Divisional Officer and made an appeal to this effect. The MIS was introduced by the government to help the growers at a time when the prices for their produce fell drastically. But the relief failed to reach the farmers yet, they lamented. -Staff Reporter
