HYDERABAD: The Uppal police on Sunday unravelled the mystery behind the murder of an unidentified woman with the arrest of her lover Anand. The woman’s body was found on roadside in Chengicherla village of Uppal a few days ago. A bed linen with the South Western Railway logo on it, supplied in air conditioned coaches to passengers, was found tied around her neck. With the help of logo on bed linen, police identified the woman as Sandhya, 23, of New Bhoiguda. She was working in the office of a railway contractor along with her lover Anand. Police inquiries revealed that Anand fell in love with Sandhya three years ago. For the last few months, she was requesting him to marry her. A heated argument ensued between them over the issue on November 12 and in a fit of rage, Anand assaulted Sandhya resulting in serious injuries to her. When Sandhya became unconscious, he poured kerosene on her and set her afire. Later, he dumped the body on the roadside at Chengicherla village with the help of his friend Prameela. “We have arrested Anand and Prameela and remanded them to judicial custody,” police said.
