NEW DELHI: On the eve of 4th edition of the Environmentally Friendly Vehicle Conference-2009, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit flagged off a rally of eco-friendly vehicles at India Gate here on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Dikshit said: “Through this rally, we want people to realise that vehicles with cleaner fuel are also being made in the country. It is up to all Indians to accept them. There will be difficulties naturally but they will be tackled. It is extremely important to bring cleaner and alternative fuels to use, else it will severely effect the environment.” The vehicle rally encompassed all types of environment-friendly vehicles that are available and will be coming soon in the country. It saw the participation of 18 vehicles ranging from electric two-wheelers to a CNG mini-truck. The vehicles finally reached the forecourt of The Ashok hotel. Some of the vehicles like the Toyota Prius and the Mahindra Scorpio will continue to remain exhibited till November 24.
