Dachepalli blast: SI suspended

GUNTUR: Within a week of the devastating blast at Narayanpur in Dachepalli that killed 12 persons, Sub Inspector of Police, Dachepelli, D. Ramesh Babu was suspended by Guntur Range Inspector General of Police K.R.M Kishore Kumar on Sunday on charges of dereliction of duty. The order was given on Sunday. Speaking to The Hindu over telephone, the I.G said that preliminary enquiries revealed that the SI had failed in his duties of regular inspection of godowns, where the explosives were being stored. –Staff Reporter
