Sandeep out

NEW DELHI: Drag-flicker Sandeep Singh was on Saturday ruled out of the FIH Champion’s Challenge I hockey tournament to be played at Salta, Argentina, from December 6-13.

Young penalty corner specialist Diwakar Ram has replaced Sandeep.

As per the medical report of orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Parag Sancheti, Sandeep is suffering from acute lumbar strain with right L5 radculopathy, a Hockey India statement said.

Sandeep has to go through a rehabilitation programme for three weeks and has been advised not to involve in any strenuous activity.

He will be re-examined after three weeks.
