BHUBANESWAR: Navratna public sector unit National Aluminium Company Ltd. (NALCO) has been accorded prestigious premier trading house status in accordance with the provision of the Exim Policy by the Indian government.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s premier trading house status is the highest status awarded to any export house by the government.

“As per the current foreign trade policy, the export house should have exported goods worth Rs.7,500 crores or above during the current year plus previous three years for getting the status,” NALCO said in statement here on Saturday.

It said the company had achieved export of Rs.7609.07 crores during the current year up to July 31, including the previous three years from April 2006 to July 2009. The company said since 2005 it had been recognised as a Five Star Trading House for its substantial contributions.
