BSP to raise unethical media practices in Parliament

Staff Reporter

CHENNAI: The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) will raise in Parliament during the coming week the issue of unethical media practices.

The party has demanded a set of measures to monitor media practices, especially during elections, State secretary and executive committee member K. Ramasubramanian told reporters.

He said the approach of the media, especially regional language newspapers, to the coverage during the Lok Sabha elections had come as a rude shock.

Some newspapers, in the name of special package, had collected huge sum of money from candidates and provided coverage of their campaign. Such a practice denied a level-playing field for candidates who could not afford huge sums for campaign.
