Security clubs for all educational institutions
Staff Reporter
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State government has decided to constitute security clubs in all educational institutions in the State, Education Minister M.A. Baby has said.
He was speaking after inaugurating the NCC Day celebrations at the Tagore Centenary Hall here on Friday. The NCC should take the lead in giving the necessary training to those who volunteer to join the security clubs.
In view of the recent boat/canoe accidents in the State, the Education Department wanted swimming to be made part of the curriculum.
It may even give grace marks to those students who learned swimming. The NCC should also give training in swimming to all its cadets, Mr. Baby said.
In his welcome address, officiating DDG of the NCC (Kerala and Lakshadweep) Colonel D. Jayadev said the NCC in Kerala had “seen a definite pattern of growth both in training as well as in the availability of infrastructure.”
