Meeting

Bangalore: Various issues related to corruption will be discussed by Lokayukta police officers and prosecutors during a meeting here on Saturday. The meeting — the first of its kind — is being held in the context of low rate of conviction of cases related to corruption. The low rate of conviction has been worrying the Lokayukta police, as 72 officials have been acquitted of corruption charges during the last 11 months. Only 22 cases ended in conviction. In nine cases, the accused officials were discharged.
