Vote for change, says Jayaprakash Narayan

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: The city will continue to be plagued by unsafe drinking water, overflowing drains, garbage dumps, pot-holed roads and traffic jams, if the right candidates are not elected, Lok Satta Party president Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan warned voters on Friday.

“Bad leaders are elected by good people who do not vote for change,” he told media persons. He pointed out that revulsion for politics among the educated, middle classes and youth had led to land grabbers and others unfit for public life becoming politicians. He called on educated and middle class voters to exercise their franchise for empowering people with resources and responsibilities. B. Babji, Spokesman, said party workers would blow whistles at all important centres in the city on Saturday at 3.30 p.m. to alert people.
