Collector to inspect site for hospital

Tirupur: Following instructions of Labour Minister T.M. Anbarasan, the Collector, C. Samayamoorthy, will soon be carrying out an inspection of the site tentatively identified on the outskirts of the city to establish the multi-specialty ESI hospital by the Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC).
The plot, situated near Thirumuruganpoondi and belonging to Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment Department, was provisionally chosen from among the five sites by the ESIC protocol committee, which recently visited the region to select a location for the hospital project.
The protocol committee had submitted the report later to the Regional Board of ESIC for which the Labour Minister is the ex-officio chairman.
The protocol committee comprised Additional Commissioner, State Medical Commissioner, an Executive Engineer and Joint Director (Coimbatore Sub-region), all from ESIC; Regional Administrative Medical Officer (ESI scheme) representing the State Government, and representatives of National Buildings Construction Corporation Limited which is the designated construction agency for the hospital.
Construction
Mr. Anbarasan, during his visit to the city on Tuesday, said that steps were being taken to expedite the construction of multi-specialty ESI hospital at an estimated outlay of Rs. 60 crore.
