Power disruption in many areas

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: Many areas of the city did not have power supply for several hours on Friday. Sources in Bescom said that power supply had been affected due to an “insulator flashover” at the 220 kV Hoody station. The Hoody station feeds around 10 sub-stations, including NGEF, Bagamane, HRBR and ITI.

Due to the “insulator flashover”, they said that around three transformers in the Hoody station had been affected and supply to the 10 sub-stations was paralysed. They said that the officials were working to restore supply by Saturday morning.
