KOCHI: The Ernakulam Town South police have arrested the main accused in an inter-State burglar group. The team led by Town South Circle Inspector V.G. Raveendran and Panangad sub-inspector V.S. Navas arrested Arumugan, 35, also known as Murukan of Sulthan Bathery, Wayanad, from near Kumbalam on Thursday night. The accused was carrying a crowbar to break into houses at the time of arrest. The accused later confessed to many crimes, during the interrogation led by P.M. Varghese, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Thrikkakara. He admitted breaking into many houses in the region along with his group members. The police are on the look-out for Rajendran, Paramasivan and Soorya, other members of the group.
